A 96-years-old lady stunned everyone with her interior decoration skills

Don’t judge a book by its cover and don’t judge a house from its exterior look. This is what we can learn from a house located in the Bloor West Village in Toronto. This is the home of a 96-year-old Toronto resident who is going to sell her two-storey home.

From the outside, the house look like a normal home of the 1940s, but from inside, it completely portrays a different story that even her neighbours had no idea about. The most interesting thing about this home is that the interior of the home has not changed for more than 72 years. It is gorgeously decorated in the 1950s and 1960s style from the floor to ceiling and will surely steal your heart at a single glance. With metallic wallpaper, pastel decorations, modern baroque prints, colorful carpeting, amazing lighting, and stunning style, this house look like a set of a pristine palace.

The most surprising thing about this 96-year-old lady, a former seamstress is that she never received any professional training in interior decoration but has always been passionate about designing her home and always listened to her heart whenever she chose anything. Despite her age, she has managed to keep every corner of her home in pristine and well-maintained conditions with the help of her family. In an interview with HGTV, she claimed that she has always tried to be an individual and follow her own style for the interior decoration of her home.

1.The exterior of the home

Located in the Bloor West Village of West Toronto, this home looks like any normal building of 1940’s, however, what lies behind that door is something simply stunning.


Open the door and just see what an amazing entryway is waiting for your welcome. From floor to cleaning, this double storey building is decorated gorgeously in 1960s style. From design, architecture, color selection, lighting to wallpaper, everything is just amazing and breathtakingly beautiful.

3.Living room

The living room portrays the look of a royal palace and represent a wonderful combination of colors, decorating themes, textures and a great architectural style. The 96-year-old lady, who is soon moving to a retirement community preferred soft colors and things that match and flow well together.

4.Dining room

The dining room looks like coming directly from a movie set. The way everything has been placed and maintained shows the love she must have had for this place.

5.Kitchen room

The kitchen is decorated in 1950s style and comprises of amazing custom cabinet hardware and stunning light fixtures. From her kitchen, it is very easy to know that her favorite colors are soft pastels such as seafoam, pink, aqua, and purple.

6.Breakfast nook

There is also a separate breakfast nook where people can relax and spend some quality time with their loved ones. The decoration of her breakfast nook is really adorable and the ambiance of this little corner also gives such cozy vibes, that you can start day-dreaming a life of happiness and fantasy sitting here.


The most amazing place to explore in this house is the bedroom.Although there are three bedrooms, with different shades adorning them, the master bedroom here features a bright and bold gemstone purple setting with a purple carpet, royal style bed, lilac walls, amazing lighting, and a fuchsia settee.
